Getting to Zero: Case Study for a Southern University

The study shows that deep decarbonization can be achieved at a reasonable cost using a combination of technologies, leaving the university well positioned for the future. The study was prepared for a campus in the southern United States during the Biden administration and references its signature Clean Economy Act (IRA). It is presented here not as a recipe (as there are many site-specific factors), but as a general approach to campus energy decarbonization that may be useful elsewhere. An earlier version was prepared for IDEA Campus Energy 2024.
